Audiologic, VNG and Cochlear Assessments

Detailed Hearing and Balance Evaluations for Comprehensive Care

Our comprehensive hearing tests provide detailed assessments of hearing health. Services include VNG Balance Evaluations, Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations, and Cochlear Implant evaluations to diagnose hearing loss and balance disorders accurately. Our team combines state-of-the-art technology with expert care to help determine the best path for your hearing needs.

Sometimes, people with hearing loss find that a hearing aid isn’t enough to fix their symptoms. If that’s you, we can help with cochlear implant evaluation and mapping. This involves implanting a small hearing device in the ear to provide additional support. It can help you overcome a hearing loss that more traditional support devices haven’t resolved.

Ear infections cause pain for adults and children alike. They can be caused by allergies, infections and other health conditions. Our health professionals can diagnose the severity of your infection and treat it if necessary. However, ear infections generally go away on their own after 10-14 days.

Swimmer’s ear (otitis externa) is a condition that causes pain in the outer ear and ear canal. Our team can evaluate you for cholesteatoma and treat it with surgery. This generally requires anesthesia but can be done in an outpatient setting. You may have to take one or two weeks off of work and revisit us for a follow-up appointment to verify your healing is proceeding as we expect.

Young children require a special approach to ear care, as they aren’t able to participate in the evaluation process themselves. We offer pediatric ear infection services to support this population.

Specialized balance care

Advanced Balance Treatments for a Steady Life

Our Balance Center provides specialized care for individuals experiencing vertigo, dizziness, and balance disorders. Balance testing helps uncover the causes of dizziness or instability by evaluating how well your inner ear, eyes and brain work together to maintain balance. Common tests include Videonystagmography (VNG), which measures eye movements in response to positional changes, and vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), which assess the inner ear’s response to sound. Electrocochleography (ECoG) may also be used to measure electrical activity in the inner ear.

Meniere’s disease is characterized by short episodes of vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus and sensations of ear fullness. The exact causes or unknown, but it’s thought to result from an abnormality in the volume of fluid in the inner ear. Our team can diagnose and treat Meniere’s disease, although no known cure exists. Treatment can include medications, lifestyle changes and injections.

Advanced neurotology care

Specialized Neurotology Services for Complex Ear and Nerve Disorders

Our neurotology services focus on complex ear and neurological disorders. We treat conditions such as Acoustic Neuroma, Facial Paralysis/Bell’s Palsy, and provide Skull Base Surgery for structural or growth-related issues. Our expert team uses advanced techniques to address both hearing and nerve-related challenges.

Our professionals can identify whether you have acoustic neuroma. If you do, we can either remove the tumor via surgery or treat it with stereotactic radiation therapy. The latter treatment doesn’t remove the tumor but can stop it from growing and potentially shrink it. This may be enough to reduce your symptoms.
